Nahum..  Nothing minor about him.

His ministry (650-625 B.C. ) During the reign of Manasseh (Evil), Amon (Evil), Josiah (Good).

3 chapters,47 verses,1285 words.

Nahum 1:1 "The burden of Nineveh."
Nahum  1:2 Vengeance..3 times.  Heb. 10:30,31.  And God is a jealous God. He wants no rivals.
God is not mocked(Gal.6:7) He knows our every thought. All better be on God's side.
Nahum 3:1 Nineveh, the bloody city. Capital of Assyria. Built by Nimrod. (Gen.10). The Assyrians were cruel, skinning people alive when captured. The city of Nineveh was at its highest. They had repented at Jonah's preaching, but now had gone back to iniquity.
Nahum prophesied her fall (3:16,17). She fell to the Babylonians, Medes in 612 B.C.
Nahum 1:8 Nahum told how Nineveh would fall. By an overrunning flood...Tigris river.
Judah will never be bothered by Assyria..1:15
   The wall around Nineveh was almost 100 feet high and wide enough for a chariot to run on it.
   Sometimes God uses evil nation to do His work. He used Assyria to overthrow Israel (Isa. 10:6)  Then God sent Jonah to announce judgment on Assyria (Nineveh).
   God allowed Nineveh to prosper many years until her cup was full of sin.  "Why do the wicked prosper" (Ps. 37   Ps.73:3-
The Tigris river was redirected and the city was flooded.  1:8   2:6
  2,457 years later (612 B.C. to 1845 A.D.) archaeologists uncovered evidenc of God's judgment upon the great city.

God will judge the nations. God's Messiah, Jesus Christ is the only remedy for sin.

Does this remind us of our worldly wrongs?
