Haggai

The name means "festival"
Haggai ministered 520 B.C.    (Malachi 430 B.C.)
Haggai, Malachi, and Zechariah ministered after the Jews had came back from Babylonian captivity.
Most had stayed and did not return to their homeland. Many had farms, some had businesses, others were in government (Daniel,Nehemia).
There are two other references to Haggai and Zechariah....Ezra 5:1 and 6:14.
The temple was completed in 515 B.C. after a 14 year stop. Haggai and Zechariah spoke to the people to complete God's house.
More than likely Haggai was born while he was in Babylon.  Judah was taken in 3 time frames,  605, 598, and 586 B.C.
Was Haggai the one who had seen the temple (Solomon's) before it had been destroyed in 586 B.C.
If so he would be 75 years old at his writing.
Haggai 1:1 In the second year of Darius. Sixth month, first day.   Sept.1, 520 B.C.
Haggai 1:2 The returned people saying it is not time to build God's house. And these are his chosen people. Haggai told them....You are living in fine houses, but you are not considering God's house. v. 1:4
Haggai 1:5  ".consider your ways"
Haggai 1:11 God caused a drought to make them consider.
Haggai and Zechariah at this time were preaching while the temple was being built.
25 times divine authority of Haggai's messages. "saith the Lord" , word of the Lord.
Haggai 1:8 Go up to the mountains and bring wood to build my house that I might be glorified.
Haggai 1:14 Thanks to Godly men like Zerubbabel and Joshua, work continued on the temple.  "..the Lord stirred up the spirit.."   Ezra 3:8
Haggai 2:20- All nations that were against Israel... God will destroy them. The great tribulation time.
Haggai 2:23  3 times the divine authority of God. Could this be something special for Zerubbabel? ...Millennium ??
